Delhi Police Apprehend Two Vehicle Thieves, Recover Stolen Motorcycle

New Delhi, September 23 (Daily Kiran) : During a routine patrol in South Delhi, the Neb Sarai police made a significant breakthrough in combating vehicle theft. On September 20, officers apprehended two suspects and recovered a stolen Hero Splendor motorcycle. According to a press release from the South District of Delhi Police, the patrol team observed a young man riding a motorcycle without valid documents near Radhe Garden on the service road of Bhand Road in the N-Block of Sainik Farm.Acting on suspicion, they stopped him for questioning. The individual was identified as Asif Khan, 19. When the police checked the motorcycle's documentation, he was unable to provide any valid papers. A further investigation revealed that the motorcycle was reported stolen, with an e-FIR registered under number 022299/2026 at the Pul Prahladpur police station on September 17. During interrogation, Khan confessed to the theft and disclosed that he had stolen the motorcycle with an accomplice named Nitin.Acting on this information, the police swiftly located Nitin at Sainik Farm and arrested him as well. Nitin, also 19, resides in the same area, and both suspects are reportedly laborers by profession. This operation was conducted under the supervision of the Neb Sarai Station House Officer and the Assistant Commissioner of Police for Sangam Vihar. The team included Head Constable Pramod, Constable Narendra, and Head Constable Sandeep. The prompt action and field investigation by the police led to the recovery of the stolen motorcycle.Following their arrest, the suspects were processed under relevant legal provisions and presented before the court. Deputy Commissioner of Police for the South District, Anant Mittal, emphasized that the success was due to the swift actions of the patrol team, which is part of ongoing efforts to curb vehicle theft incidents in the area.
