Fatal Burglary in Baguiati: Police Investigate Possible Murder of Local Man
Baguiati, September 20 (Daily Kiran) : In a tragic incident on Sunday, a burglary in the Baguiati area of North Kolkata led to the discovery of a man's body. The victim, identified as 31-year-old Balram Rajbanshi, was found dead inside his home, raising suspicions of foul play. Police reported that Balram's body bore signs of injury. Investigators are looking into whether he was murdered during the attempted burglary.
Balram lived with his parents and older brother in the Raghunathpur neighborhood. According to local sources, he had been ill for several years and was often bedridden. At the time of the incident, Balram was home alone. His mother was at work, his father was out selling fish, and his brother had also left the house. When Balram's mother returned home that afternoon, she discovered her son's lifeless body inside. The house was in disarray, with items scattered around, an open cupboard, and empty jewelry boxes on the bed.The Baguiati police have registered a case and are investigating the connection between the burglary and Balram's death. Authorities are questioning family members and local residents, as well as reviewing CCTV footage. Reports indicate that the house was locked from the outside, and Balram's mother had to unlock the door upon her return. Their pet dog was found locked in another room, and neighbors reported not hearing any unusual noises during the incident. Investigators are also examining whether the cupboard was forcibly opened or simply left ajar.
