Gujarat Students Can Now Order Textbooks Online via Amazon

Gandhinagar, September 25 (Daily Kiran) : Students and parents in Gujarat will no longer need to visit stores to purchase school textbooks. Thanks to a new initiative by the state government, they can now order textbooks online and have them delivered to their homes at printed prices. The Gujarat State School Textbook Board has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the e-commerce giant Amazon.Under this agreement, the board's textbooks will be available on Amazon, and parents will not incur any additional delivery charges when making purchases. This service will cover textbooks for all classes and mediums. The state government provides some textbooks for free, while others must be purchased by students. This is particularly relevant for those attending self-financed schools, where students often have to buy several books on their own. Following the agreement with Amazon, students and parents can order the necessary books online, paying only the printed price without any extra delivery fees.Kinjal Makwana, a parent from Ahmedabad, expressed that this service is especially beneficial for working parents. She shared that her child is in the first grade and that she ordered textbooks through Amazon. Due to their busy schedules, they found it challenging to visit stores. However, ordering online allowed all the necessary books to arrive conveniently at their home. Manubhai Pavra, the executive chairman of the Gujarat State School Textbook Board, stated that the aim of the MoU with Amazon is to ensure that students and parents receive textbooks at home without incurring additional costs.He mentioned that the agreement was finalized after recent discussions with Amazon. Now, when needed, students can easily order books through Amazon's platform. The Gujarat State School Textbook Board distributes approximately 15 million textbooks each year. This new online facility will also benefit students who require additional copies or other books beyond what is provided through the government's distribution system. This initiative aims to enhance access to textbooks for students and parents, eliminating the need to visit bookstores for every purchase.
