Indian Womens Skeet Team Wins Bronze at Asian Games 2026

New Delhi, September 23 (Daily Kiran) : The Indian women's skeet team had a remarkable day at the Asian Games 2026 held on September 23. The trio of Parinaz Dhaliwal, Raiza Dhillon, and Maheshwari Chauhan clinched a bronze medal in the team event. Both President Droupadi Murmu and Sports Minister Anurag Thakur congratulated the team on their impressive achievement.In a message posted on X, the President extended her congratulations, stating, “Congratulations to Parinaz Dhaliwal, Raiza Dhillon, and Maheshwari Chauhan for winning the bronze medal in the women's skeet team event at the Asian Games 2026. Your skills, determination, and team spirit have made the nation proud. I hope you achieve even greater success in the future.” Minister Thakur also took to X to celebrate their victory, saying, “Heartfelt congratulations to Parinaz Dhaliwal, Raiza Dhillon, and Maheshwari Chauhan for winning the first bronze medal in the women's skeet team event at the Asian Games 2026.” Kiren Rijiju, Minister of Parliamentary Affairs, praised the team for their historic win.He remarked on X, “This is the first medal for India in the women's skeet team event. Their outstanding performance has set a new benchmark for Indian shooting.” The trio scored a total of 331 points after three days of qualification rounds, securing third place. The gold medal was won by the Chinese team of Che Yufei, Jian Yiting, and Jiang Chaoyu with a score of 347, while Kazakhstan's Asem Orinbayeva, Zoya Piskun, and Adel Sadakbayeva took silver with 336 points.Maheshwari Chauhan hails from Siyana in Rajasthan and excels in women's skeet events. Raiza Dhillon is from Chandigarh and is also a skilled competitor in this discipline. Parinaz Dhaliwal, from Patiala in Punjab, specializes in women's skeet, team skeet, and mixed team skeet events.
