The motorcycles feature a rally-style design, a 21-inch front wheel, and long-travel suspension, offering greater off-road capability compared to the Kawasaki Versys 650. The 649cc parallel-twin engine is equipped with double overhead camshafts (DOHC) and eight valves. Kawasaki has made changes to the electronic throttle valve, intake, and exhaust system to improve torque delivery below 4000 rpm, making riding on rough roads and at low speeds easier. The engine delivers 70 hp at 8600 rpm and 64 Nm of torque at 7500 rpm, surpassing the output of the Versys 650 (66 hp) and the Ninja 650 and Z650 (67 hp).The KLE650 is built on a high-tensile steel trellis frame. At the front, the bike features a 43mm inverted fork with 210mm of travel. The rear suspension uses a Uni-Trak setup, offering 195mm of travel and preload adjustment. Braking duties are handled by two 300mm discs at the front and a 230mm disc at the rear. The motorcycles ride on a 21-inch front and 17-inch rear aluminum spoke wheels, fitted with Dunlop Trailmax Mixtour tyres. The SE variant is equipped with tubeless spoke wheels. Both versions of the KLE650 come with two-mode traction control, cruise control, and switchable ABS for off-road riding. The bikes are paired with a 6-speed gearbox and an Assist & Slipper clutch. The SE variant is equipped with a bi-directional quickshifter, while this feature is available as an accessory on the standard model. The standard KLE650 model features an LCD display, whereas the SE variant is fitted with a TFT screen. The SE further includes a tall windscreen, metal-reinforced hand guards, a USB-C charging port, and an aluminum skid plate. In the United States, the Kawasaki KLE650 ABS is priced from $8,799 (approximately Rs 8.37 lakh), while the KLE650 SE ABS is priced at $9,999 (about Rs 9.51 lakh). These prices are for the US market; pricing in India may differ. The Kawasaki KLE650 is expected to be launched in India, but the company has not yet officially announced a launch date.
