Kuku Kohli Dies At 77: Aruna Irani's Husband & Filmmaker Who Gave Ajay Devgn His Bollywood Break Passes Away Of Heart Attack
Famed filmmaker Kuku Kohli passed away at the age of 77. He was best known for launching Ajay Devgn in Bollywood with his 1991 directorial debut Phool Aur Kaante, which marked the actor’s first Hindi film.
The news of Kohli’s death was confirmed by his friend and fellow filmmaker Ashoke Pandit. Ashoke penned a heartfelt note for his friend on Instagram, saying, "My heart is breaking as I announce the passing of filmmaker Kuku Kohli. Today, I have lost a great friend and a great filmmaker." He said to HT City, "He (Kuku) had no illness, it was a massive heart attack,” he said, adding that Kohli was “hale and hearty” before his sudden demise.
Kohli is survived by his wife, actress Aruna Irani, and his two children, Pooja and Karishma, from his previous marriage.
