Mother Seeks Action Against Cop Over Alleged Harassment Of Minor In Bhopal

Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): A woman has approached the police commissioner seeking action against a sub-inspector, alleging that her 17-year-old son was subjected to inhuman treatment at the TT Nagar police station.

In her complaint, the woman claimed that she had herself sent her son to the police station on June 19 after learning about allegations of theft.

She alleged that during his stay at the police station, sub-inspector Sikarwar shaved her son's head and forced him to lick his shoes.

Her son narrated his ordeal to her when police brought him for production before the Juvenile Justice Board for hearing.

The woman said she had been cooperating with the police and wanted her son to face the punishment. She said that while her son had already been punished, the SI should also face punishment for humiliating and harassing her minor son.

However, the TT Nagar police have denied the allegations of harassment and assault. Police station incharge Gaurav Dohar said the boy was a minor but had eight criminal cases registered against him.

He has allegedly provided information that led to the recovery of several stolen motorcycles. According to police, he has been sent to a juvenile observation facility in Indore for three months in connection with the cases.
