Over 6,400 Ganesh Idols Immersed in Mumbai Without Incident

Mumbai, September 20 (Daily Kiran) : On September 20, Mumbai celebrated the seventh day of Ganesh Chaturthi with the immersion of 6,436 Ganesh idols. According to the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC), no untoward incidents were reported during the immersion process, which concluded by 9 PM. The BMC's report detailed that by 9 PM, 99 public Ganesh idols, 6,127 household idols, and 210 Gauri idols were immersed at various designated sites across the city and artificial immersion tanks.The majority of the immersed idols were from households, with devotees participating at multiple locations. To ensure smooth movement and safety at the immersion sites, extensive arrangements were made by BMC officials. Teams monitored the various locations throughout the day, maintaining order and security. The BMC confirmed that the immersion process proceeded without any incidents, marking a peaceful conclusion to the celebrations. Ganesh Chaturthi is one of Maharashtra's most significant religious festivals, where devotees establish and worship idols of Lord Ganesh, culminating in their immersion, symbolizing the deity's return to his divine abode.
