PM Modi chairs 53rd PRAGATI meeting, reviews projects worth over Rs 30,000 crore

Prime Minister Narendra Modi chaired the 53rd PRAGATI meeting on Tuesday, August 25, and reviewed six key infrastructure projects across the railway, road and power sectors.The projects span nine states and have a combined investment of more than Rs 30,000 crore. The review focused on timely completion, coordination between agencies, and the resolution of pending issues that could delay the projects.The projects are aimed at strengthening connectivity, supporting economic and industrial activity and improving public services.PM Modi stresses end-to-end monitoring of infrastructure projectsDuring the meeting, PM Modi said infrastructure projects should be viewed as an integrated whole rather than as separate sections, stretches or packages.He said delays do not only increase project costs but also postpone the benefits that infrastructure projects are intended to provide to citizens, businesses and the economy.The Prime Minister called on ministries and state governments to adopt an end-to-end approach and address issues that could impede the project's completion and commissioning of the entire project.He also stressed the need for a proactive work culture, with greater ownership at every stage of project implementation.Common utility corridors for infrastructure projectsPM Modi called for ministries and states to examine the possibility of common utility corridors for infrastructure services wherever feasible.He said such integrated approaches should be considered while planning major transport and infrastructure projects, keeping their technical and economic feasibility in mind.PM Modi says speed must go hand-in-hand with qualityPM Modi said that faster execution of infrastructure projects must go hand in hand with quality.He called on ministries, states and implementing agencies to adopt modern technologies and strengthen quality assurance and supervision at every stage of project implementation.PM Modi calls for greater use of AI in AgriStackThe meeting also reviewed AgriStack under the Digital Agriculture Mission.PM Modi stressed the need to use the latest digital technologies, including Artificial Intelligence (AI), to derive greater value from agricultural data.He said the data ecosystem should be used across the agricultural value chain, from input planning to processing.
