President Murmu Urges Film Stars to Avoid Promoting Harmful Substances

Kevadia, September 22 (Daily Kiran) : President Droupadi Murmu has made a heartfelt appeal to film stars, urging them not to endorse harmful substances. This statement came during the 72nd National Film Awards ceremony held in Kevadia, Gujarat, where she honored various artists on September 22. In her address, President Murmu highlighted the immense influence popular film stars have, particularly on the youth.

She noted that successful actors who advocate for a disciplined lifestyle can inspire young people to follow suit. "A true star is one who spreads light, not darkness," she emphasized, encouraging artists to use their platforms responsibly. Among the award recipients was actress Yami Gautam, recognized for her role in "Article 370," and actor Kartik Aaryan, who received accolades for his performance in "Chandu Champion." Aaryan attended the ceremony with his parents, while Gautam was accompanied by her husband, Aditya Dhar.
The Hindi film "Article 370" was awarded Best Feature Film, with producer Aditya Dhar accepting the honor. Randeep Hooda was recognized with the Best Debut Film of a Director award for his work on "Swatantrya Veer Savarkar." The Telugu film "Kalki 2898 AD," directed by Nag Ashwin, won the Best Popular Film Providing Wholesome Entertainment. President Murmu also presented the Best Direction (Non-Feature) award to Aanand L. Rai for "Statue of Unity: A Symbol of Unity." The Best Telugu Feature Film award went to "Committee Kurrolu," while Mammootty shared the Best Actor award for his role in the Malayalam film "Brahmayugam" with Aaryan.
Sanjay Mishra was awarded Best Supporting Actor for his role in the Hindi film "Bhakshak," and veteran actor Anant Nag received the prestigious Dadasaheb Phalke Award. Manoj Muntashir was honored with the Best Lyricist award for the song "Jaane Do" from the Hindi film "Maidaan," while Vijay Ganguly received the Best Choreography award for "Aaj Ki Raat" from "Stree 2," featuring Tamannaah Bhatia.
