Often, due to an urgent need or a change in plans, we have to change our scheduled train travel dates. Under the current system, this simply means canceling a confirmed ticket, losing a substantial amount in cancellation charges, and then struggling to secure a new ticket. But that's about to change.

In fact, the Railway Ministry is implementing a new change that will allow you to reschedule your confirmed ticket without canceling it. And most importantly, you won't have to pay any fees for this, and in some cases, the Railways will even refund you.
