When we are discarding the old for the new, there always comes some level of uncertainty, as the old, although outdated, is still something we are familiar with, still something we are used to. The new represents unchartered territory and uncertainties. An old Sicilian proverb cautions us that while we are likely to remember the difficulties associated with the old job or project, we cannot anticipate the challenges which await us.
