Spider-Man: Brand New Day Beats Star Wars: The Force Awakens to Become Top US Grosser; Receives Special Note
Released on July 31, 2026, Spider-Man: Brand New Day has created history at the box office becoming the top US grosser beating the 11-year-old record created by Star Wars: The Force Awakens.
Back in 2015, Star Wars: The Force Awakens became the first film in history to go past $900 million mark in the US and ended up making $936.7 million at the box office.

Sharing the film’s box office, a trade analyst wrote on X, “HISTORY IS MADE. #SpiderManBrandNewDay has officially become the HIGHEST GROSSING FILM OF ALL TIME at US #BoxOffice, after dethroning #TheForceAwakens on TUE.
#BrandNewDay grossed STRONG 915k on 7th TUE Discount Day, a -39.1% drop from last TUE, despite having lost -217 theatres on FRI!
It hits a 936.8M cume domestically, now 112M ahead of Endgame at same point, despite having started just 3M ahead!
It has beaten #TheForceAwakens’ 936.7M 11-year record as the new HIGHEST GROSSING FILM OF ALL TIME in the U.S. Eyeing a 960M run in the U.S.”
