West Bengal Allocates Land for 33 New Industrial Projects Worth ₹60,000 Crore

Kolkata, September 25 (Daily Kiran) : Kolkata's Chief Minister, Suvendu Adhikari, announced on Friday that the West Bengal government has completed the land allocation process for 33 new industrial projects. These initiatives are set to attract an estimated investment of around ₹60,000 crore. Adhikari shared this update during a public meeting in Bardhaman, following an administrative review meeting held the previous day.He stated, "The process of handing over land allocation documents for 33 industrial units is complete. We estimate that these projects will generate approximately 62,000 jobs, both directly and indirectly." The projects encompass various sectors, including semiconductors, defense, solar energy, electric vehicles, pharmaceuticals, steel, food processing, textiles, engineering, and MSMEs. To ensure the timely commencement of these projects, the Chief Minister emphasized that the state government has set conditions requiring work to start within a specified timeframe after land allocation.In addition to industrial developments, Adhikari announced a subsidy of ₹2 per unit on electricity for nearly four lakh farmers in the state. He also revealed plans to increase the assistance provided under the PM-Kisan Samman Nidhi scheme from ₹6,000 to ₹9,000. Furthermore, the government will guarantee the purchase of paddy from farmers at a minimum support price of ₹2,700 per quintal. Addressing concerns about corruption, Adhikari warned that anyone involved in fraudulent activities would be identified, penalized, and potentially imprisoned.
