16-Year-Old Breaks Records With Massive Hands And Feet
A Michigan teenager, Eric Kilburn Jr, has set two Guinness World Records for having the largest feet and hands of any living teen. At 16, he stands at an impressive height of 6 feet 10 inches, with feet measuring 13.5 inches and hands at 9.13 inches. His shoe size is a massive US 23, or UK 22, far exceeding the typical adult male shoe size of 8.5 to 9.
Eric's growth was noticeable early in his life. He realized how large he was while still in kindergarten, but by the fifth grade, finding shoes became a significant challenge. Unable to buy off-the-shelf shoes, he required custom orthopaedic shoes costing over $1,500 (Rs 1.25 lakh) per pair.
Eric suggested to his mother that they apply for the Guinness Book of Records, hoping the recognition would capture the attention of companies willing to create shoes that fit him.
His story gained widespread attention, particularly on social media. The situation reached new heights when NBA legend Shaquille O'Neal gifted him custom sneakers last year. Following this support, brands like Puma and Under Armour stepped in to provide properly fitting shoes.
“I love to inspire people to be them and be who you are,” Eric shared. In a Guinness World Records video, he emphasized that he refuses to hide behind anything. Though he's just a “regular Eric” to his friends with whom he enjoys sports, he admitted that being featured in the Guinness World Records still feels surreal.
Eric cherishes the relationships he's built with shoe companies and everyone who has helped him. Additionally, he is excited to support "The Big Shoe Network ," a nonprofit his mother founded to assist others struggling to find shoes or clothing in their sizes. "I want to help people the same way I was helped when I needed it," he told GWR.
