Defence ministry inks Rs 1,943cr deal with General Atomic for leasing of 2 MQ-9B Sea Guardian drones for Indian Navy

NEW DELHI: In a move aimed at boosting the country's maritime surveillance , the defence ministry on Monday signed a contract with US-based General Atomics Aeronautical Systems for the leasing of two MQ-9B Sea Guardian high-altitude long-endurance remotely piloted aircraft systems for the Indian Navy for a period of 30 months. The contract is valued at Rs 1,943 crore. It was signed in the presence of additional secretary & director general (acquisition), Department of Defence A. Anbarasu, in New Delhi.
