Indian-origin Uber driver father in NYC seeks help on GoFundMe for daughter's funeral after mother kills five-year-old: 'I lost my whole world'
A New York father is struggling to arrange his five-year-old daughter’s funeral after the child was found dead at their Queens home, with the girl’s mother charged with murder after allegedly telling a 911 dispatcher, “I killed my daughter.”
Kuldeep Singh has launched an online fundraiser to cover the funeral and cemetery expenses for his daughter, Fabiana Cabello , who was found unresponsive at the family’s home in South Richmond Hill, Queens, on October 14.

“I loved my daughter very much, and losing her feels like I lost my whole world,” Singh wrote on the fundraising page, explaining that the funeral home and cemetery were asking for a deposit he could not afford.
The grieving father said he was trying to continue working as an Uber driver while coping with the loss, but the emotional strain and funeral costs had made the situation difficult.
“I am trying to keep working as an Uber driver while driving a rental car, but I am grieving and struggling to manage these costs at the same time,” he wrote, appealing for donations to give Fabiana a proper funeral and burial.
Mother allegedly called 911 and confessed
Fabiana’s mother, Francis Cabello, 32, was arrested and charged with second-degree murder in connection with the child’s death.
Police said officers responded to a home in South Richmond Hill at around 6.55 pm on October 14 following an emergency call. They found Fabiana unresponsive and took her to Jamaica Hospital Medical Center, where she was pronounced dead.
Although police did not publicly identify the caller, law enforcement sources told multiple news outlets that Francis made the call and allegedly told the dispatcher, “I killed my daughter.”
According to a criminal complaint obtained by People, investigators believe the incident occurred between 5.30 pm and 6.55 pm that day.
Fabiana was found with scrapes on her face and petechiae — tiny spots caused by bleeding beneath the skin — in her eyes, heart and lungs, according to the complaint. These findings can be associated with asphyxia. The medical examiner is responsible for determining the official cause of death.
Francis was arraigned on October 16. She did not enter a plea and was due to return to court on October 20, according to the Queens District Attorney’s Office. She was also taken to a hospital for a psychiatric evaluation, according to reports.
Family devastated by child’s death
The tragedy has left Fabiana’s family struggling to come to terms with her death while her father seeks financial help to lay her to rest.
The child’s uncle remembered her as a joyful girl who brought happiness to the family.
“She’s a very beautiful girl, you know,” he told NBC New York, describing how she made her grandparents happy and gave family members warm hugs.
Fabiana’s grandfather, Franklin Cabello, also spoke of the family’s devastation.
“As a family, we feel mentally and physically destroyed,” he told reporters, adding that they were placing their confidence in God.
Singh’s fundraiser asks people to contribute towards the funeral and cemetery costs or share the appeal with others. He said any donation would help ease the financial burden during one of the most difficult periods of his life.
