US Pacific Northwest leaders join India's 80th Independence Day celebrations in Seattle

Top political leaders from across the US Pacific Northwest extended greetings to India on its 80th Independence Day , with governors, US lawmakers and local authorities joining celebrations organised by the consulate general of India in Seattle.

Governors Greg Gianforte of Montana, Mike Dunleavy of Alaska, Larry Rhoden of South Dakota and the Governor of Washington sent congratulatory messages ahead of the August 15 flag-hoisting ceremony. US senator Maria Cantwell and members of the house of representatives, including Adam Smith, Kim Schrier, Suzan DelBene, Dusty Johnson, Marilyn Strickland and Michael Baumgartner, also shared messages celebrating India and the Indian-American community.
