Uttar Pradeshs Cultural Richness Celebrated in Iceland with Focus on Investment and Tourism

Reykjavik, September 20 (Daily Kiran) : The Indian Embassy in Reykjavik organized Uttar Pradesh Day on September 20, highlighting the state's rich cultural heritage, tourism, and investment opportunities. The event featured the Speaker of the Uttar Pradesh Assembly, Satish Mahana, and Chairman of the Legislative Council, Kunwar Manvendra Singh. Ambassador R.Ravindra emphasized the business and investment prospects in Uttar Pradesh during the event. Icelandic photographer and author Einar Falur Ingolfsson shared his travel experiences from various parts of Uttar Pradesh, including Varanasi. The program also included a performance by members of ISKCON, showcasing devotional songs. Participants of Indian origin presented various cultural acts. An exhibition of Uttar Pradesh's "One District, One Product" (ODOP) initiative was displayed, along with videos highlighting the state's tourism, trade, and investment potential.The Embassy described the event as a platform to showcase Uttar Pradesh's rich heritage and the opportunities available in the state. The day prior, the Indian Embassy hosted the "Developed India Run 2026," aimed at connecting the Indian community in Iceland. This initiative was inaugurated by Mahana and Singh at the embassy. According to the Embassy, the "Developed India Run" promotes fitness, unity, and community spirit, encouraging citizen participation in building a developed India by 2047.The event aligns with the "Service Fortnight" campaign, which runs until October 2, Gandhi Jayanti, emphasizing community service and collective responsibility. Both dignitaries also participated in a tree-planting initiative under the "One Tree in Mother's Name" campaign at the embassy. The Embassy noted that this initiative fosters a sense of collective responsibility and environmental conservation. Additionally, the tree-planting event contributed to a positive atmosphere for the "Cleanliness is Service 2026" campaign, which emphasizes participation in cleanliness efforts under the theme of "Clean India, Developed India." This campaign was launched on September 17 and will continue until October 2.During the launch, Ambassador R. Ravindra administered a cleanliness pledge to embassy officials and participated in clean-up activities.
