Alia Bhatt's Candid Take On Valentine's Day And Disappointing Dates

Alia Bhatt expressed her disdain for the Valentine's Day frenzy, labeling it as 'overrated' during her appearance on the celebrity talk show, Koffee with Karan, a decade ago.

What Alia said about Valentine's Day
In a 2014 episode featuring Alia and actor Parineeti Chopra, when Karan inquired about their relationship status, Alia expressed her contentment with being single. However, she admitted feeling a twinge of loneliness on holidays when surrounded by couples. In a candid moment, she remarked, “Valentine's Day is really overrated!”

When Karan mentioned that she was speaking from the perspective of not having a boyfriend, Alia responded, “No! Valentine's Day and New Year's. Once my boyfriend took me out on Valentine's Day and he didn't talk to me the whole time. So I think it is overrated.”

When Karan and Parineeti inquired about the incident and sought details, Alia responded, "Didn't do anything, we were just small. We were young." Parineeti interrupted with a joke and said, “I think that's why he didn't talk to you because you didn't do anything!”

Fast forward to the present, ten years later! Alia Kapoor, now married to actor Ranbir Kapoor, exchanged vows with him in April 2022 after a courtship that blossomed during the filming of Brahmastra: Part One- Shiva. Their love story took a new turn when Alia revealed her pregnancy in June 2022. On November 6 of the preceding year, the couple joyfully welcomed their first bundle of joy, a baby girl named Raha.

Alia has just clinched her fifth Best Actress Filmfare award for her role in "Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahaani." Her upcoming projects include "Jigra," directed by Vasan Bala, and "Love and War," where she reunites with director Sanjay Leela Bhansali. The latter film features Ranbir Kapoor and Vicky Kaushal alongside her.
