Tata Motors has recently expanded its Nexon lineup by introducing a panoramic sunroof across both petrol and diesel variants. This feature, which was first launched with the Nexon CNG model, is now available in the top-end Fearless Plus PS trim of the Nexon, enhancing the appeal of this popular sub-compact SUV.

Competitive Pricing
The pricing for the Nexon with a panoramic sunroof starts at Rs 13.6 lakh for the petrol manual variant, going up to Rs 15.6 lakh for the diesel automatic variant. The petrol options include a 1.2-litre turbocharged engine that generates 120 horsepower and 170 Nm of torque. In contrast, the diesel variant features a robust 1.5-litre engine producing 115 horsepower and a substantial 260 Nm of torque. Both engines come with either a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed AMT option, while the petrol variant additionally offers a 5-speed manual or a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox.

Features That Stand Out
The Nexon has been designed to be feature-rich, aiming to provide a premium experience to its users. It boasts a 10.25-inch floating touchscreen infotainment system and a similarly sized instrument cluster that enhances the dashboard's modern aesthetic. The vehicle also comes equipped with a 360-degree camera, ensuring superior visibility for drivers. Other notable features include connected car technology, a wireless charger, and ventilated front seats, making for a comfortable ride, regardless of the weather.

For audiophiles, the Nexon offers an 8-speaker JBL sound system that promises high-quality sound during journeys. Additional comforts such as an air purifier and cruise control contribute to the overall experience, ensuring that passengers enjoy both safety and luxury.

Safety Features
Safety is a paramount concern for Tata Motors, and the Nexon reflects this commitment. The SUV is equipped with six airbags as standard across all variants. Furthermore, it includes advanced safety features such as Electronic Stability Control (ESC), three-point seat belts for all passengers, ISOFIX child seat anchors, and a Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS). The vehicle is also fitted with front parking sensors and a blind view monitor, making it one of the safest choices in its segment.

A Unique Position in the Market
The Tata Nexon and Mahindra XUV 300 are the only sub-compact SUVs in the Indian market offering a panoramic sunroof, which enhances their attractiveness. The XUV 300 offers the panoramic sunroof in its top-spec AX7 and AX7 L trims, priced between Rs 12.49 lakh and Rs 15.49 lakh. This pricing positions the XUV 300 slightly higher than the Nexon, making the latter a more economical choice for buyers looking for premium features without breaking the bank.

The Verdict
With the addition of the panoramic sunroof in both petrol and diesel variants, Tata Motors has reinforced the Nexon's status as a leading player in the sub-compact SUV segment. The competitive pricing, extensive features, and robust safety measures make the Nexon an appealing option for potential buyers. As more consumers look for vehicles that offer both practicality and luxury, the Nexon is well-positioned to capture a significant market share.
