Hero Image
Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to inaugurate the rejuvenated Ayodhya Railway Junction , embracing the essence of the grand Ram temple , in addition to attending the pran pratishtha ceremony of the temple idol on January 22. The Ayodhya junction's transformation is deemed one of the most significant facelifts undertaken at any railway station in Uttar Pradesh.

A Divine Glimpse in Ayodhya
As travellers arrive in Ayodhya in the coming months, they will be greeted by a splendid sight even before setting foot inside the revered shrine - the magnificent Lord Ram temple. The railway station, which has been meticulously designed to echo the ethos of the Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust's creation, presents a picture-perfect preview of what awaits them.

State-of-the-Art Facilities
The rejuvenation of Ayodhya Railway Junction is a massive undertaking, with an estimated cost of Rs 104.77 crore. RITES Ltd , an enterprise under Indian Railways , is overseeing the construction of the station building, which is being carried out in two phases.

Phase One: Modernization at Its Best
In the first phase, work focuses on platform number 1 and 2/3, enhancing the current circulating area, and developing the holding area, all under the auspices of Northern Railways. This phase, which is already completed, boasts modern facilities that have come at a cost of approximately Rs 241 crore.

A Temple-Like Experience
The station will offer an array of facilities, including dedicated parking, employee accommodations, and a railway police office. It will feature the construction of three new platforms, all fashioned in the image of Lord Ram's temple. As devotees embark on their journey to this sacred city, the Ayodhya Dham railway station will make them feel as if they have arrived at the very birthplace of Lord Ram.

Second Phase: Expanding the Grandeur
The second phase of the project encompasses the construction of a plaza, passenger amenities, the development of air concourses at the platforms, and the installation of elevators and escalators. This phase further enhances the aesthetic and functional aspects of the station.

A Substantial Investment
The Indian Railways has committed a substantial sum of approximately Rs 620 crore to ensure the junction's expansion and passenger amenities, as well as to breathe fresh life into the entire junction.

A Vision Unfolding
Officials reported that the expansion work at the junction gained momentum in 2019. To ensure the success of this mammoth task, the project was divided into two phases, with the first involving the construction of a new station building and the second dedicated to enhancing passenger amenities, improving accessibility, and giving the junction a modern facelift.
