Heavy Rainfall Alert: IMD Issues Yellow Alert For Delhi, Mumbai; Predicts Downpour In Maharashtra, Gujarat, And UP
The India Meteorological Department ( IMD ) has forecast heavy rainfall across several states for Wednesday, issuing a yellow alert for Mumbai and Delhi to indicate the likelihood of significant rainfall.
According to the latest weather bulletin, “Heavy to very heavy rainfall with extremely heavy falls (≥ 20 cm) very likely at isolated places over Konkan & Goa, Madhya Maharashtra and Gujarat state; Heavy to very heavy rainfall (≥ 12 cm) likely at isolated places over Punjab, Haryana-Chandigarh- Delhi, East Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, and Odisha.”

Yellow Alert in Delhi
On Tuesday, the IMD issued a yellow alert for Delhi for the next two days, warning of moderate to heavy rainfall in various parts of the city. The national capital is expected to experience moderate rainfall on Wednesday, July 24, with temperatures ranging from 26°C to 34°C.
Heavy Rainfall in Mumbai
Mumbai is forecasted to continue experiencing moderate to heavy rainfall on Wednesday, July 24. The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has predicted a high tide of 4.07 meters at 1:30 am on that day.
The Mumbai Regional Meteorological Department's district forecast and warning bulletin has placed the state capital on yellow alert, with the potential for heavy rainfall in isolated areas. The city's civic body was on alert after an orange alert was issued on Monday.
Mumbai has been experiencing heavy rain for the past couple of weeks, leading the Mumbai Police to issue an advisory asking citizens to avoid coastal areas due to waterlogged roads and resulting traffic snarls.

Heavy to very heavy rainfall is expected in isolated areas of Maharashtra, Gujarat, Goa, Haryana, Punjab, Uttar Pradesh, Jharkhand, Arunachal Pradesh, West Uttar Pradesh, Vidarbha, Jharkhand, and more on Wednesday, July 24.
The IMD has also predicted heavy rainfall in isolated places over Jammu-Kashmir-Ladakh-Gilgit-Baltistan-Muzaffarabad, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, West Uttar Pradesh, Vidarbha, Jharkhand, Arunachal Pradesh, Assam & Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura, Kerala & Mahe, Coastal Karnataka, and South Interior Karnataka.
