The Indian government, along with state governments, runs multiple schemes aimed at benefiting citizens, especially the poor and the underprivileged. One such initiative by the Maharashtra state government is the Majhi Ladli Bahin Yojana , a scheme introduced specifically for women. Under this program, eligible women receive financial aid of ₹1,500 per month. However, not all women qualify for this scheme, as the government has set specific eligibility rules.

Let’s take a closer look at who does not qualify and how to apply for this scheme.

Ineligibility Criteria: Who Won’t Get the Money?

Certain eligibility criteria have been outlined by the government for Majhi Ladli Bahin Yojana. Women who meet the following conditions will not receive the benefits:

Income Limit: Women from families with an annual income exceeding ₹2.5 lakh are not eligible.

Taxpayers: If any family member is an income taxpayer, the woman will not receive the benefit.

Government Employees :
Families where any member works as a regular, permanent, or contractual employee in any department of the Central or State Government are excluded.

Other Government Scheme Benefits: If the woman or any family member is already receiving ₹1,250 or more per month under any other scheme from the Government of India or the State Government, they are not eligible for this program.

Positions in Public Institutions: Women or family members who hold the position of chairman, director, or member in any government board, corporation, or division are not entitled to the benefits.

Asset Ownership: Families owning a four-wheeler vehicle (except a tractor) or having more than five acres of agricultural land are not eligible.

How to Apply for Majhi Ladli Bahin Yojana

While many women have already applied for the scheme, there are still many who haven’t. Eligible women can apply either online or offline.

Offline Application: The form can be submitted at government offices, Anganwadi centers, or Setu offices.

Online Application: For online submissions, the Maharashtra government has launched the Nari Shakti app, which can be downloaded from the Google Play Store and Apple App Store.

This scheme aims to empower women by offering financial support, but it is important to carefully check the eligibility criteria before applying to avoid disappointment.
