Emotional Moments in IPL 2023 Final: Ambati Rayudu's Career Closure And Ravindra Jadeja's Tribute To MS Dhoni

Ambati Rayudu , the middle-order batsman of Chennai Super Kings ( CSK ), expressed his jubilation after a remarkable conclusion to his cricketing career. Rayudu, who had announced his decision to retire from the IPL just before the final against the Gujarat Titans, credited his success to three decades of hard work. Meanwhile, CSK all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja dedicated the team's record-equalling fifth IPL title to captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni, who may have played his final IPL match.

Rayudu Relishes "Fairytale Finish"

In the aftermath of CSK's triumphant five-wicket victory over the Gujarat Titans in the IPL final, Ambati Rayudu expressed his gratitude and satisfaction with the fairytale ending to his cricketing journey. He acknowledged that playing alongside exceptional teams had contributed to his immense joy and stated that the last 30 years of hard work had paid off significantly. Rayudu extended his appreciation to his family, particularly his father, for their support throughout his career.

Rayudu shared, "It's a fairytale finish. I couldn't have asked for more. I'm fortunate to have played in really great sides. I can smile for the rest of my life. All the hard work I've done in the last 30 years, I'm happy I got to finish on this note. I would really like to thank my family, my father. Without them, this wouldn't have been possible."

Jadeja Dedicates Victory To MS Dhoni

Ravindra Jadeja, the versatile all-rounder of CSK, played a pivotal role in the team's fifth IPL title triumph. His remarkable six and four in the final two balls sealed the victory, and he dedicated the win to CSK's esteemed captain, MS Dhoni. Jadeja, hailing from Gujarat, expressed his elation at clinching the championship in front of his home crowd. He commended the passionate CSK fans who endured the rain delay and wholeheartedly supported the team.

Jadeja expressed, "Feels amazing, winning my fifth title in front of my home crowd. I'm from Gujarat, and it's a special feeling. This crowd has been amazing. They were waiting for rain to stop till late night. I'd like to say a big congratulations to the CSK fans who came to support us. I'd like to dedicate this win to a special member of the CSK side, MS Dhoni."

Jadeja's Approach

Reflecting on his winning knock, Jadeja revealed his mindset during the crucial moments. He aimed to swing the bat vigorously without concerning himself with where the ball would go. Jadeja had confidence in his ability and targeted hitting the ball straight, particularly against Mohit, who possessed deceptive slower deliveries.

Jadeja explained, "I was just thinking I need to swing hard, as much as I can. Where the ball will go, I was not thinking about that, just looking to swing hard. I was backing myself and looking to hit straight because I know Mohit can bowl those slower balls."
