Yuzvendra Chahal's No-Word Reaction Trends Amid T20I Series Announcement Against Australia

The Board of Control for Cricket in India ( BCCI ) has revealed the 15-member squad for the upcoming T20I series, scheduled to commence on November 23. Surprisingly, the squad will include only three players from India's ODI World Cup lineup.

Merely four nights after their intense encounter in Ahmedabad and the heartbreaking loss in the World Cup final, the Men in Blue are set to face Australia once again, this time in a T20I series. On Monday night, BCCI unveiled the squad for the five-match series beginning on November 23 in Vishakhapatnam, featuring just three members from the ODI World Cup squad.

The selected squad closely resembles the one sent to Ireland for a T20I contest in August. Notably, Suryakumar Yadav will lead the side in the absence of Jasprit Bumrah , who, like most World Cup squad members, has been rested. Shreyas Iyer is designated as the vice-captain and is expected to join the series for the final two matches. Ruturaj Gaikwad , the leader of the Indian team that secured the Asian Games gold medal in October, will serve as Suryakumar's deputy for the initial three games. Ishan Kishan is the sole representative from the ODI World Cup team.

One noticeable omission from the 15-member squad is Yuzvendra Chahal , who had earlier been excluded from the ODI World Cup squad as well. India opted for a single leg-spinning option in Kuldeep Yadav, sidelining Chahal. The last time Chahal played for India was during the West Indies tour in August.

Following the squad announcement, Chahal took to social media with a cryptic post that quickly went viral. The post consisted of a simple smiling emoticon, without any accompanying words.

This T20I series marks the initiation of India's preparations for the T20 World Cup next year, scheduled to be held in the United States in seven months. Despite the setbacks, Chahal still has ample opportunities ahead, with the crucial IPL 2024 season on the horizon.
