Udupi: Headmaster suspended after blast injures four students at school

Udupi: The headmaster of a government higher primary school at Kukkuje has been suspended following an incident in which four students were injured after an object exploded while dry waste was being burnt on the school premises.

According to officials, the incident occurred when students of the Government Higher Primary School were asked to burn dry waste. During the process, an unidentified object present in the waste exploded, leaving four students injured. The injured students were admitted to a hospital for treatment.

Following the incident, school headmaster Dayananda Nayak was suspended for alleged negligence in the discharge of his duties.

The suspension order was issued by the Deputy Director (Administration), School Education Department, Udupi district, based on the directions of the Chief Executive Officer of the District Panchayat.
