Bajaj Auto has taken a bold step forward with the launch of the refreshed 2025 Pulsar NS400Z. The new model, now priced at Rs 1.92 lakh (ex-showroom), brings along a series of meaningful performance and feature upgrades aimed at elevating its street-naked appeal. While the styling remains largely familiar, key mechanical and functional enhancements make this latest version a compelling option for both thrill-seekers and daily riders.

More Power, Same Engine, Sharper Response

The 2025 Pulsar NS400Z continues to use the 373cc single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine, but with a vital tweak — the power output has been bumped from 40 hp to 43 hp. Though torque stays at 35 Nm, the increased horsepower has translated into better acceleration figures. Bajaj now claims the bike can sprint from 0 to 60 kmph in just 2.7 seconds, and 0 to 100 kmph in 6.4 seconds, improving overall agility. Top speed has also seen a rise to 157 kmph from the previous 150 kmph, making it more competitive in the performance-focused 400cc segment.

Bi-Directional Quickshifter Now Standard

A significant highlight of this upgrade is the introduction of a bi-directional quickshifter. This feature allows riders to change gears both up and down without using the clutch, delivering a smoother and faster gear transition. Tyre Upgrade Enhances Grip and Handling

For improved road contact and stability, Bajaj has swapped out the previous MRF rear tyre for a wider 150-section Apollo Alpha H1 unit. The front retains the 110/70 R17 spec but now also comes from Apollo, promising better overall grip and cornering confidence. These tyres are performance-oriented and are expected to handle high-speed manoeuvres with greater ease.

Improved Braking with Sintered Pads

The braking setup receives a subtle yet important upgrade through the use of sintered brake pads. Known for their better heat tolerance and bite, these pads improve braking efficiency, especially under heavy or repeated use. Despite the performance upgrades, Bajaj has managed to maintain the fuel economy of the NS400Z. It still claims a mileage of 28 kmpl under standard riding conditions, ensuring that the bike continues to offer a practical balance between thrill and daily usability.

At Rs 1.92 lakh (ex-showroom), the 2025 Pulsar NS400Z commands a modest premium of just over Rs 7,000 compared to its predecessor.
