BMW X1 LWB Launch On August 21: Check Design, Features, Dimensions And Engine Details
The BMW X1 LWB launch in India is scheduled for August 21, 2026. BMW has already opened bookings for the upcoming SUV through its authorised dealer network across the country.
The long-wheelbase SUV will be locally manufactured at BMW’s Chennai facility. This will make the X1 LWB an important addition to the brand’s India line-up, particularly for buyers looking for a more spacious premium SUV.
Compared with the standard X1, the long-wheelbase version is 116mm longer and gets an additional 110mm of wheelbase. The exterior features BMW’s signature kidney grille, slim LED headlights and matching LED tail-lamps.
The international-specification model gets 19-inch alloy wheels as standard. For India, BMW is expected to offer 18-inch wheels as standard, with 19-inch units potentially available as an option.

Boot capacity has increased from 476 litres in the standard X1 to 540 litres in the long-wheelbase model, giving families more room for luggage.
The cabin is also expected to feature a dual-screen setup, including a 10.25-inch digital driver’s display and a 10.7-inch touchscreen infotainment system. Other expected BMW X1 LWB features include electrically adjustable front seats, automatic climate control, wireless charging, a powered tailgate, automatic parking assistance and a digital key.
This engine produces 204 hp of maximum power and 300 Nm of peak torque and is paired with a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox. Internationally, the model is available with both front-wheel-drive and all-wheel-drive configurations.
