BYD India has made a strong statement in the electric SUV market with the launch of the BYD Sealion 7. The highly anticipated electric SUV was first unveiled at the 2025 Bharat Mobility Expo, and bookings commenced the same day. Now, the Sealion 7 has received over 1,000 bookings, with deliveries set to begin from March 7. With a booking amount of Rs 70,000, BYD is offering several attractive benefits, including a 7-year/1.5 lakh km warranty, a complimentary 7 kW home charger for the first 70 buyers, and a matching Rs 70,000 discount.
Variants And Pricing
The BYD Sealion 7 is available in two variants—Premium and Performance—priced at Rs 48.9 lakh and Rs 54.9 lakh (ex-showroom), respectively. Both models feature an 82.56 kWh battery pack, but their performance and drivetrain configurations differ. The Premium variant is equipped with a single-motor rear-wheel-drive (RWD) setup that delivers 313 PS of power and 380 Nm of torque, offering a claimed driving range of 567 km on a full charge. Meanwhile, the Performance variant features a dual-motor all-wheel-drive (AWD) setup, producing 530 PS and 630 Nm of torque, with a slightly lower claimed range of 542 km.

The BYD Sealion 7 shares its design DNA with the BYD Seal sedan, featuring a bold and aggressive stance. Its front fascia is adorned with sharp angular headlamps, L-shaped LED daytime running lights, and large air intakes that enhance aerodynamics. On the sides, the EV boasts sculpted creases and aerodynamically optimised alloy wheels. Flush door handles add to its sleek profile, while prominent cladding around the wheel arches lends it a rugged appeal.
At the rear, the Sealion 7 features a modern design with sleek connected LED taillights and a roof-mounted spoiler for enhanced aerodynamics. Additionally, a second lip spoiler sits at the edge of the tailgate, further refining its sporty aesthetics. The dimensions of the SUV stand at 4,830 mm in length, 1,925 mm in width, and 1,620 mm in height, making it a substantial presence on the road. Its rear-end design closely resembles that of the BYD Atto 3, giving it a familiar yet distinctive look.
