Citroen has introduced the C3 CNG in the Indian market, marking its expansion into the growing CNG vehicle segment. Priced at a starting point of Rs 7.16 lakh (ex-showroom), the C3 CNG is available across four variants—Live, Feel, Feel(O), and Shine—catering to diverse customer needs. The CNG kit is offered as a dealer-level retrofitment, costing an additional Rs 93,000 over the petrol variant, and comes with a three-year/1 lakh km warranty for added peace of mind.

Variants and Pricing

The Citroen C3 CNG is available in four variants, providing a range of options for buyers. The starting price is set at Rs 7.16 lakh for the base variant and goes up to Rs 9.24 lakh for the top-spec model (ex-showroom). This strategic pricing aims to make the C3 CNG a competitive option in its segment, especially for those seeking economical and eco-friendly alternatives.

Engine and Performance

Powering the Citroen C3 CNG is a 1.2-litre naturally aspirated engine that delivers 82 hp and 115 Nm of torque in petrol mode. Although specific power figures for the CNG mode have not been disclosed, it is expected to be slightly lower, as is typical for CNG conversions. The C3 CNG is equipped with a 5-speed manual gearbox, optimised for smooth power delivery and fuel efficiency. It boasts an ARAI-certified mileage of 28.1 km/kg, positioning it as a highly efficient option for city and highway driving.

Upgraded Suspension for Enhanced Comfort

To maintain its signature ride quality despite the additional CNG kit, Citroen has upgraded the rear suspension of the C3 CNG. This enhancement ensures that passengers experience a smooth and comfortable drive, comparable to the standard petrol variant. This thoughtful update reflects Citroen’s commitment to providing a balanced driving experience, even with the switch to CNG.

Fuel Tank and Range

The CNG version of the C3 comes fitted with a single CNG cylinder with a water-equivalent capacity of 55 litres. This configuration is estimated to deliver a driving range of approximately 170 to 200 kilometres on a full tank, making it ideal for both city commutes and short highway trips. The CNG retrofitment is handled in collaboration with Lovato, ensuring quality and reliability.


Feature-Rich Interiors and Safety

Citroen has ensured that the C3 CNG retains all the features found in its petrol counterpart. It comes equipped with a 10.2-inch touchscreen infotainment system, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a 7.0-inch full-digital instrument cluster, and automatic climate control. Convenience features include electrically adjustable ORVMs, a rear parking camera, and a day/night IRVM.

On the exterior, the C3 CNG sports 15-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels, fog lights, rear wiper and washer, rear skid plates, and a rear defogger. Safety remains a priority, with six airbags as standard, alongside Electronic Stability Program (ESP), Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS), hill-hold assist, ABS with EBD, and rear parking sensors, ensuring a secure driving experience.
