Ducati Monster gets new V2 engine in India: Price & details
Ducati has launched the fifth-generation Monster in India, with prices starting at Rs 13.99 lakh, ex-showroom. The 2026 Ducati Monster gets a new 890cc V2 engine, a lighter chassis, updated styling and a revised electronics package. It is available in both Monster and Monster+ versions.
The standard Monster is priced at Rs 13.99 lakh in Ducati Red, while the Iceberg White and Sport Livery versions cost Rs 14.23 lakh. The Monster+ starts at Rs 14.34 lakh in Ducati Red, going up to Rs 14.45 lakh for the Iceberg White and Sport Livery options. The Plus version adds a headlight cowl and passenger seat cover.
2026 Ducati Monster: New engineThe biggest change is the new 890cc V2 engine with Intake Variable Timing (IVT). It produces 110 bhp at 9,000 rpm and 91.1 Nm at 7,250 rpm. More than 80 per cent of its peak torque is available between 4,000 rpm and 10,000 rpm, which Ducati says makes the engine more usable across different riding conditions.
The new engine is also 5.9 kg lighter than the previous Testastretta Evoluzione unit. Valve-clearance inspections are required every 45,000 km, giving the Monster longer maintenance intervals.
Lighter chassis and updated designThe new Monster uses a monocoque frame, with the engine serving as a stressed member. It also gets a double-sided swingarm inspired by the Panigale V4. The motorcycle weighs 175 kg without fuel, which is 4 kg less than the previous Monster.
The seat has been redesigned and lowered by 5 mm to 815 mm, while its narrower shape makes it easier for riders to put their feet down. The handlebar has also been positioned higher and further forward.
Electronics and features
The Monster gets a six-axis IMU supporting cornering ABS, Ducati Traction Control, Ducati Wheelie Control, Engine Brake Control and Ducati Quick Shift 2.0. Riders can choose from four riding modes: Sport, Road, Urban and Wet.
A new 5-inch TFT display with an 800x400-pixel resolution and 16:9 aspect ratio handles the instrumentation. The bike is also ready for Ducati Multimedia System, turn-by-turn navigation and cruise control.
Ducati has also introduced prepaid maintenance plans for the new Monster. Ducati Protect+ costs Rs 30,999 and covers two years or 15,000 km, while Ducati Protect Pro costs Rs 54,999 and covers four years or 30,000 km. Scheduled genuine parts and labour are covered, while consumables such as brake pads, clutch plates and tyres are excluded.
