In the fierce battleground of motorcycle sales, Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India has emerged as the frontrunner, surpassing its rival Hero MotoCorp in total sales for the month of April in the ongoing financial year 2024-25.

Honda's sales figures for April stand at a staggering 5,41,946 units, marking an impressive 45 percent year-on-year growth. This includes both domestic sales of 4,81,046 units and exports totaling 60,900 units.
Domestic Dominance
While Honda's domestic sales witnessed a substantial 42 percent year-on-year growth, soaring to 4,81,046 units, exports also saw an impressive surge of 67 percent over the same period last year.
Hero's Challenge
Hero MotoCorp, the market leader, witnessed a significant surge in total sales, reaching 5,33,585 units in April, marking a 34.71 percent year-on-year growth. However, Honda outperformed Hero with its sales of 5.41 lakh units.
Domestic Duel
In terms of domestic sales, Hero's performance was commendable, with a robust growth of 32.91 percent, reaching 5,13,296 units compared to 3,86,184 units in April 2023. In comparison, Honda's domestic sales stood at 4.81 lakh units, showcasing a strong presence in the domestic market.
Regional Milestone
Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India recently achieved a significant milestone in the eastern region by selling 8 million units. This achievement encompasses states like Bihar, Jharkhand, West Bengal, Odisha, and the North-East.
Innovative Offerings
In other developments, Honda introduced new offerings and maintained its competitive edge. On the other hand, Hero MotoCorp commenced deliveries of its largest motorcycle, the Mavrick 440, which was launched in February 2024.
