Mahindra Vision S: Everything You Need To Know About Mahindra's Rugged Compact SUV
Mahindra unveiled the Vision S Concept as part of its Freedom_NU event on August 15, 2025. The concept previews a new sub-4-metre compact SUV that has already been spotted testing on Indian roads, indicating Mahindra's steady progress in expanding its lineup. The Vision S is expected to compete with models such as the Tata Sierra, Maruti Suzuki Brezza, Hyundai Venue, and the Kia Sonet.

The Vision S is built on Mahindra’s all-new NU_IQ platform, which supports petrol, diesel, and fully electric powertrains. The platform is designed to improve structural rigidity, crash safety, technology integration, and support future electrification for upcoming SUVs in Mahindra's Vision lineup.
Although Mahindra has not officially provided any information on the engines, reports suggest that the Vision S could borrow powertrains from the XUV 3XO.
1.2-litre mStallion TGDi Turbo Petrol
This engine has a capacity of 1,197 cc, with an expected output of around 130 PS and an expected torque of 230-250 Nm. The engine comes equipped with a 6-speed manual transmission and a 6-speed automatic transmission.
1.5-litre mHawk Diesel
This engine has a capacity of 1,497 cc with an expected output of around 117 PS and an expected torque of 300 Nm. It comes equipped with a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed automatic transmission.
