Details of the Hector Price Hike
This adjustment follows an earlier price reduction of Rs 95,000 for Hector earlier this year. Interestingly, the entry-level Hector Style remains unaffected by this hike. However, for other variants, the increase is noticeable. Petrol models with manual transmission see an increase of Rs 16,000-Rs 20,000, while those with automatic gearboxes are up by Rs 17,000-Rs 22,000. Diesel trims of the Hector are seeing a rise of Rs 18,000-Rs 22,000. Consequently, the petrol variants now range between Rs 13.99 lakh and Rs 18.43 lakh, and diesel models are priced from Rs 17.30 lakh to Rs 22.24 lakh, all prices ex-showroom.

Hector Plus Sees Significant Hikes
The Hector Plus, the three-row variant of the Hector, has also seen significant price hikes. Petrol-manual trims now cost Rs 20,000-Rs 23,000 more, and petrol-automatic variants have increased by Rs 24,000-Rs 25,000. Diesel variants are up by Rs 20,000-Rs 30,000. After the price hike, the Hector Plus petrol models start at Rs 17.30 lakh and go up to Rs 22.93 lakh, while diesel variants range from Rs 19.82 lakh to Rs 23.08 lakh, ex-showroom.

Blackstorm Edition Price Adjustments
The Blackstorm editions have also seen price changes. The Blackstorm diesel manual variant is now priced at Rs 22.24 lakh after a Rs 22,000 hike, and the Blackstorm petrol automatic variant is now Rs 21.53 lakh, following a Rs 21,000 increase.

Market Implications
The recent price hike comes at a time when MG Motor India is witnessing growing competition in the SUV segment. With new players entering the market and existing competitors updating their models, MG’s decision to increase prices might affect its market positioning. However, the company's previous price reduction earlier this year may have cushioned the impact for potential buyers who are still considering the Hector and Hector Plus.
