MG Unveils Comet Blackstorm Edition In India At ₹7.80 Lakh: A Blend Of Style & Performance

JSW MG Motor India has unveiled the Blackstorm edition of its Comet EV, priced at ₹7.80 lakh (ex-showroom). This new variant, positioned at the top of the Comet EV lineup, introduces a distinctive aesthetic with its all-black exterior complemented by red accents. Notably, the pricing excludes the battery rental fee of ₹2.5 per kilometre under the Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) program. Interested customers can book the Comet Blackstorm with a token amount of ₹11,000 at MG dealerships.

Distinctive Design and Styling
The Comet Blackstorm edition stands out with its Starry Black exterior paint, enhanced by red highlights on the front bumper, skid plates, side claddings, and alloy wheels. The vehicle also features a 'Blackstorm' badge on the fenders and a dark chrome MG monogram, adding to its unique identity. Silver accents near the headlights and a connected LED taillight further elevate its visual appeal.

Inside, the all-black theme continues with leatherette seats adorned with red 'Blackstorm' embroidery and stitching. The dashboard and door panels retain subtle beige hues, providing a balanced contrast. The interior design aims to offer a sporty yet sophisticated ambiance for occupants.


Powertrain and Performance
Under the bonnet, the Comet Blackstorm retains the standard Comet EV's powertrain. It is equipped with a 17.3 kWh battery pack that powers a rear-mounted electric motor, delivering 42 horsepower and 110 Nm of torque. This setup offers a claimed range of up to 230 kilometres on a single charge, making it suitable for urban commutes and short trips.

Features and Technology
The Blackstorm edition comes equipped with a host of features to enhance comfort and convenience. It boasts a dual 10.25-inch screen setup, comprising a digital driver's display and a touchscreen infotainment system. The infotainment system supports wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, ensuring seamless smartphone integration.
