Suzuki e-Access First Ride Review: A Perfect Fit For City Commuters?

As India’s electric two-wheeler market picks up momentum, a familiar name has now entered the fray with a completely electric twist. Suzuki’s newest offering, an electric scooter built for everyday urban journeys, has made its initial debut on a controlled circuit. While it wasn’t a road test in the traditional sense, the first ride gave us a strong glimpse into what this EV brings to daily commuting. Focused on functionality, ease of use, and longevity, this scooter appears to be a strategic move rather than a flashy one.

Smart Urban Styling without the Gimmicks

Rather than following the increasingly common path of futuristic, over-styled electric scooters, Suzuki’s design team has opted for clean, contemporary lines. The front features a vertically aligned LED daytime running light neatly embedded into a raked apron, accompanied by a rectangular LED headlight. The scooter manages to strike a balance between modern and modest.

Its side profile is streamlined with turbine-inspired alloy wheels that add a dose of flair without being over-the-top. A subtle two-tone colour treatment combined with raised brand insignia delivers a premium touch. The scooter is available in three dual-tone variants, with the black-red combination standing out for its sleek, high-end appearance.

Agile and Predictable on Track

At a kerb weight of 122 kilograms, the electric scooter feels impressively nimble. Manoeuvrability is a strong point, with the scooter responding smoothly to tight turns and obstacle courses set up at the test circuit. Its agility and balance offer reassurance, especially for new or everyday riders navigating urban congestion.

Even during aggressive cornering on the track, the scooter remained well-controlled, although we did notice the centre stand occasionally scraping the surface. This is unlikely to be an issue under typical city riding conditions.
