If you have important banking work lined up, this week calls for a bit of planning. Banks across several cities in India will remain closed for multiple days due to festivals and the usual weekend holidays. In many places, this could mean up to four consecutive non-working days.

Bank holidays this week

March 26 (Thursday)

Banks will remain closed in cities like Ahmedabad, Mumbai, Kolkata, Jaipur, Lucknow, Chandigarh, and others on account of Ram Navami.

March 27 (Friday)

The holiday continues in select cities including Bhopal, Hyderabad, Patna, and Vijayawada for celebrations linked to Sri Ram Navami.

March 28 (Saturday)

Banks will remain shut nationwide as it is the fourth Saturday of the month.

March 29 (Sunday)

Weekly holiday. All banks will be closed.

For customers in affected cities, this creates a long break where physical bank branches will not be available. Digital banking services , however, will continue as usual.

More holidays lined up at the end of March

The month will close with another important holiday on March 31 for Mahavir Jayanti. Bank branches will remain closed in many regions on this day as well.
