Bank Holidays in June 2026: Full RBI Holiday List and City-Wise Bank Closures
As June 2026 begins, bank customers across India are being advised to review the latest bank holiday schedule before planning any branch visits or important financial work. The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has released the official list of bank holidays for June 2026, covering regular weekend closures along with several regional festivals and state-specific observances.
Like every month, banks across the country will remain closed on all Sundays, as well as the second and fourth Saturdays. In addition to these weekly offs, several states will observe extra bank holidays due to regional festivals, religious occasions and local celebrations during June.
However, customers will still be able to access digital banking services during these holidays. Online banking, mobile banking apps, UPI services, ATM withdrawals and internet banking platforms will continue functioning normally, allowing users to complete most transactions without visiting a physical branch.
Since many holidays are region-specific, the bank holiday schedule may differ from one city to another. Customers are therefore advised to verify local bank holidays in advance before scheduling branch-related work.
One of the major regional bank holidays in June 2026 will be Muharram. Banks in Vijayawada are expected to remain closed on June 25, while a larger number of cities, including New Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Chennai, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Lucknow, Patna and Srinagar, will observe a bank holiday on June 26 for Muharram.
Apart from Muharram, several regional festivals and observances such as YMA Day, Raja Sankranti, Sant Guru Kabir Jayanti and Remna Ni will also lead to bank closures in select states.
With multiple regional bank holidays spread across June 2026, customers are encouraged to complete urgent banking work ahead of time to avoid inconvenience.
Still, experts recommend completing cheque clearances, cash deposits, document submissions and other branch-related work in advance, especially during long holiday weekends.
