Pension Scheme Update: EPS-95 Introduces Quick Missed Call Support
Pensioners under the Employees’ Pension Scheme-1995 (EPS-95) have received a major convenience boost from the Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation. Those who are unable to visit banks or offices due to age, illness, or mobility issues can now submit their life certificate without stepping out.
Doorstep service now available
A special doorstep facility has been launched in collaboration with the Postal Department. Pensioners can simply make a call to 033-22029000, after which a postal worker will visit their home. Using a biometric device, the Digital Life Certificate will be generated on the spot.
The service is completely free, making it especially helpful for elderly and bedridden pensioners.
Multiple easy options for Digital Life Certificate
Apart from doorstep service, pensioners can also submit their Digital Life Certificate (DLC) through:
Mandatory annual submission rule
As per rules, every EPS-95 pensioner must update their life certificate once every 12 months from the last submission date. Missing the deadline can lead to suspension of pension payments.
Pension benefits under EPS-95
Under the scheme:
A simpler system for senior citizens
The new arrangement aims to reduce the burden of physical visits and paperwork, ensuring that pensioners can continue receiving their benefits smoothly and on time from the comfort of their homes.
