Government Scheme: Get ₹6,000 Every Month, Check Who Is Eligible

In India, nearly 2.68 crore people live with disabilities, many of whom still struggle for equal opportunities and dignity. Taking a meaningful step toward inclusion, the Delhi government has launched a revamped disability pension scheme aimed at supporting citizens with severe disabilities and easing their financial burden.

A Strong Start to the New Year

At the beginning of the year, the Delhi government announced a major hike in disability pension. Under the new scheme, eligible beneficiaries will receive ₹6,000 per month, a sharp increase from the earlier ₹2,500. The scheme was formally implemented after a notification issued on September 25, 2025, and is expected to benefit thousands across the capital.

Why This Scheme Matters

Severe disabilities often come with ongoing expenses, regular medical care, physiotherapy, counselling, medicines, and special therapies. The core aim of this pension is to help cover these essential costs, reduce dependence on others, and improve the overall quality of life for people with disabilities.
