Govt Welfare Scheme Sends ₹5,000 Directly to 1.31 Crore Women

In a significant pre-election move, the Tamil Nadu government has reinforced its focus on women’s welfare. Chief Minister M. K. Stalin announced a fresh round of financial support under the Kalaignar Women’s Rights Scheme , calling it a firm promise to the women of the state.

Funds Released for Three Months at Once

Taking to social media platform X on Friday, Stalin revealed that payments for February, March, and April have already been credited. Women beneficiaries will receive ₹3,000 per month as regular assistance, along with an extra ₹2,000 as a one-time “summer special” bonus. In total, each eligible woman gets ₹5,000 credited directly to her bank account.

Direct Benefit to 1.31 Crore Women

The Chief Minister said the money has been transferred to the accounts of nearly 1.31 crore women across Tamil Nadu. Stressing the importance of direct transfers, he said the scheme ensures transparency and timely support, especially for women managing households amid rising expenses.
