Sonam Raghuvanshi, the prime accused in the alleged murder of her husband Raja Raghuvanshi during their honeymoon in Meghalaya, has told the Supreme Court that she is innocent and has been falsely implicated in the case.

In an affidavit filed before the apex court, Sonam argued that the prosecution's case is based on assumptions rather than credible evidence. She maintained that there is no direct material linking her to the alleged crime and claimed she has fully complied with all the conditions of her bail.

The affidavit was submitted in response to a plea filed by the Meghalaya government challenging the bail granted to her by the Meghalaya High Court. The state has sought cancellation of her bail, contending that the High Court erred in granting her relief in a case involving serious charges.

Sonam urged the Supreme Court not to interfere with theHigh Court's order, asserting that she has cooperated with the investigation at every stage and has not violated any bail conditions. She further argued that her continued liberty has not hampered the investigation or the judicial process.

Earlier this month, the Supreme Court declined to send Sonam back to jail despite expressing reservations about certain aspects of the High Court's reasoning. The court noted that she had already been released on bail and decided not to stay the order at that stage.

The case pertains to the alleged murder of Raja Raghuvanshi, who was found dead in Meghalaya during the couple's honeymoon. Investigators have accused Sonam of conspiring with others to orchestrate the killing, allegations she has consistently denied. The investigation and trial in the case are ongoing.
