Samsung launches AI-powered Intelligent Eyewear with Gemini; competes with Meta glasses
Samsung has entered the AI-powered smart glasses race with the launch of its first Intelligent Eyewear at the Galaxy Unpacked 2026 event in London, taking on Meta's Ray-Ban smart glasses with a wearable focused on hands-free AI assistance, productivity and everyday use. The company unveiled the device alongside the Galaxy Z Fold8 series and Galaxy Z Flip8.
Developed in partnership with Google, Gentle Monster and Warby Parker, the smart glasses run on the Android XR platform and integrate Gemini AI. Samsung says the device is designed to extend the Galaxy ecosystem beyond smartphones by allowing users to access AI-powered assistance without constantly looking at a screen.
