These messages often include a link to download an APK file, urging users to act instantly. This tactic is designed to create fear and urgency, leading many to make hasty decisions that compromise their accounts.

The suspicious APK file is malware that can access your SMS, OTPs, contacts, and banking credentials. Once installed, fraudsters can perform unauthorized transactions, drain your account, or even misuse your personal information. Experts emphasize that banking apps should only be downloaded from official app stores like Google Play Store or the Apple App Store.
