Tamil Nadu CM Vijay, Trisha visit Ajith Kumar at Chennai home after his mother's death; emotional hug video surfaces

Tamil star and professional racer Ajith Kumar returned to Chennai from Dubai on Saturday following the death of his mother, Mohini Mani. As the actor and his family mourned the loss, several members of the film fraternity and political circles visited his residence to offer their condolences.

Among those who paid their respects were Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Vijay and actress Trisha Krishnan. Several videos of Vijay arriving at Ajith Kumar's residence surfaced on social media, showing the actor-turned-politician visiting the grieving family following Mohini Mani's demise.

Videos from outside the residence showed Vijay arriving amid tight security. Surrounded by his security personnel, he was seen entering the actor's home to personally offer his condolences. After stepping out of his vehicle, Vijay was seen hugging Ajith before spending time with the family.

Trisha Krishnan was also seen visiting the residence to pay her respects. Dressed in a black traditional salwar suit, the actress offered condolences to the family and joined others in mourning the loss.

However, it remains unclear whether Vijay and Trisha arrived together or visited separately. While some social media clips suggested they arrived around the same time, others appeared to show Trisha reaching the residence minutes before Vijay. Several videos also showed the two arriving in different vehicles.

Ajith Kumar's mother, Mohini Mani, passed away in Chennai on Saturday morning at the age of 89. Her death comes nearly three years after the passing of her husband at the age of 85. According to the family, she died peacefully in her sleep following a period of declining health.

Sharing the news, the family released an emotional statement that read: "Our mother, Mohini Mani, passed away early this morning, in her sleep, after a period of declining health. She was 89. We are grateful for the care and support provided to her and our family by a number of medical professionals these last few years."

The family also requested privacy during this difficult time,stating that the last rites would be conducted as a private family affair.

"Her last rites will be a private, family affair. We trust that all who have known the ache of losing a parent or a beloved elder will respect our wish to grieve quietly, honoring her memory with the same equanimity, dignity, and gentle strength she showed us every single day of her life," the statement added.

The note was signed by Ajith Kumar and his brothers, Anup Kumar and Anil Kumar.
