As of July 31, 2026, six equity mutual funds had AUM of more than Rs 80,000 crore, with four of them managing over Rs 1 lakh crore. The data is sourced from ACE MF.

Parag Parikh Flexi Cap Fund Leads

Parag Parikh Flexi Cap Fund remained the largest active mutual fund and the biggest flexi-cap fund by assets. Its AUM rose to Rs 1.48 lakh crore in July from Rs 1.43 lakh crore in the previous month.

Three HDFC Funds Cross Rs 1 Lakh Crore

HDFC Mutual Fund had three funds among the biggest by AUM.

HDFC Flexi Cap Fund managed Rs 1.10 lakh crore, while HDFC Balanced Advantage Fund had Rs 1.07 lakh crore. HDFC Mid Cap Fund stood at Rs 1.05 lakh crore.

SBI Equity Hybrid Fund

SBI Equity Hybrid Fund, a hybrid mutual fund, recorded an AUM of Rs 88,035 crore as of July 31. Its assets had stood at Rs 85,633 crore in April.

ICICI Pru Large Cap Fund

ICICI Pru Large Cap Fund also remained among the funds with the highest AUM. Its assets increased to Rs 80,960 crore in July from Rs 79,420 crore in April.

Does High AUM Mean Better Popularity?

A high AUM can indicate strong investor participation and sustained inflows. However, AUM alone should not be used to judge a mutual fund. Investors should also consider the fund's investment strategy, risk level, performance, portfolio and suitability for their financial goals.

In short, a large AUM can point to popularity, but it does not automatically make a fund the right investment choice.
