4,617 cases booked against riders without helmets in Bengaluru

Bengaluru: Traffic police have registered 4,617 cases against motorists for riding without helmets in different parts of the city as part of a special enforcement drive.

Police said action was taken against riders and pillion passengers who violated helmet rules and endangered road safety. The drive was conducted across major roads and junctions under various traffic police station limits in Bengaluru.

Officials stated that helmet use is mandatory for both riders and pillion riders under traffic regulations. Violators were fined during the inspection campaign.

Traffic police said the special drive will continue in the coming days to improve road safety and reduce fatalities caused by accidents.
