8 schemes introduced by Shinde discontinued by Fadnavis, claims Shiv Sena (UBT)'s Danve
Pune/Mumbai: Chief minister Devendra Fadnavis has so far discontinued eight schemes — Majhi Shala , Sundar Shala the latest — introduced by his predecessor and current deputy CM Eknath Shinde , said Shiv Sena (UBT) member Ambadas Danve on Monday.
Danve, while speaking to media persons in Mumbai, listed the seven other schemes as Anandacha Shidha, One Rupee Crop Insurance, One State, One Uniform, Mukhyamantri Teerth Darshan Yojana, Ladka Bhau apprenticeship, Swachhata Monitor and Yojna Doot.
Targeting the Mahayuti govt, Danve said, "The govt had announced these schemes keeping elections in mind. But as soon as the Lok Sabha and assembly polls were over, the govt is on a spree of scrapping one scheme after another. We have been receiving complaints of from some that they are not getting benefits."
Even the number of beneficiaries under the Ladki Bahin scheme will be down by more than 50% after the civic elections, the former leader of opposition in the legislative council claimed.
In March, the opposition MVA criticised the govt for skipping key populist schemes in the budget, which were rolled out by the previous Shinde-led regime. Under Anandacha Shidha, around Rs 602 crore was spent on giving ration kits to economically weaker sections during Shiv Jayanti, Gudhipadwa, Ganeshotsav, Dussehra and Diwali. Similarly, under Mukhyamantri Teerth Darshan Yojana, the state govt gave Rs 30,000 per person for the visit of one pilgrimage site for senior citizens, provided the annual family income did not exceed Rs 2.5 lakh.
Danve took a dig at Shinde and said, "While Fadnavis is scrapping the schemes introduced by him, Shinde is not uttering a word about it. We are going to raise these issues in the upcoming civic elections."
Reacting to Danve's criticism, BJP MLC Pravin Darekar said, "The govt is like a family that has to set priorities while looking after the state. At present, farmers are devastated by unprecedented floods, and the priority is to provide them relief. A package of over Rs 31,000 crore has been announced, and the govt has to manage it through public funds. Therefore, some schemes are halted while some continue. I do not think anyone should politicise the issue."
