Ajit Doval to receive Tilak National Award from Amit Shah in Pune

Pune: National security adviser Ajit Doval will be conferred with the Lokmanya Tilak National Award for his contribution to boosting national security.

The award will be presented by home minister Amit Shah on the 106th death anniversary of Lokmanya Bal Gangadhar Tilak in Pune on Aug 1.

The ceremony will be held at Kataria High School ground in Mukundnagar, where, along with chief minister Devendra Fadnavis , both the deputy chief ministers, Eknath Shinde and Sunetra Pawar , will be present, said Rohit Tilak, president of the Lokmanya Tilak Smarak Trust.

Serving as the longest national security adviser of the country, Doval has played a key role in strengthening the country’s security. He has been instrumental in key operations like Operation Sindoor, Operation Balakot Air Strike and Surgical Strike .

Veteran socialist SM Joshi was the first recipient of the Lokmanya Tilak National Award, instituted in 1983. Several eminent personalities, including former President Pranab Mukherjee, Prime minister Narendra Modi, former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee and Manmohan Singh, have received the award. Union minister Nitin Gadkari was the recipient of last year’s Lokmanya Tilak National Award.
